It's an unconventional solution and very eccentric, but I wonder how pratical it is.

The same idea was and still being used on various cyclemotors running on the front or back tyres of bicycles. Powerpac, Minimotor, Velosolex to name a few. Check out www.buzzing.org  the web site of NACC, the National Autocycle & Cyclemotor Club. Affiliated to RumCars. ;D

As far as practicality goes, I've put about 50 miles on my KV in the last three weeks on the occasionally steep streets of Seattle.  It will maintain 35 mph on level ground but slows to around 12 mph while ascending moderate grades.  Rain and light snow have no significant effect on this.  I don't yet know its fuel economy.  Of course, mine is the big-block 125cc Mini 1, not the 50cc Gad'Jet offered in this listing.
