invalid carriage
« on: October 05, 2007, 07:21:44 pm »
Here we have an invalid carriage proably a do it yourself construction, coz i've never ever saw one like this. Whats of interest is the engine. same like the Mini Comtesse and not easy to find ( Stuart) Bodywork seems to be made of plywood i reckon.

I love the pair of 'em!!!  :o  :-*  ;D  I think this one, the Deutsche Orthopadische, is my favourte of the pair, with bodywork that almost looks like a Harper Mk 6 if you squint a bit. Bert Girmmer's got a vehicle very similer to this in his collection I see from his website.

Of the other one, I'm not sure if its just the body that's homemade or if the whiole thing is.  ???  Its certainly not a Simson (or Krause to be precise) Duo, that much I can tell everyone. But it's still lovely all the same....

It looks to me, Ferdi, as though your Germany had just as varied a range of krankenfahrstuhl's as our England did with its invalid carriages. I don't supose you know if there have ever been any magazine articles or books on the subject published in Germany at any time? If so, I'd love to know......

Thats how the car looks original. Sachs engine and some vespa components, front wheel for example. That one whats for sale on ebay seems to be weird. Front unit must be original but side frames and tail made by plywood and looks like self construction.
The writing doesn't say anything about the vehicle, only it was found in the bulky waste and they used the engine for something different.
