Great. Thanks for the ride. It takes me back to 1976 when I used to take my Peel P50 out for a drive down the country lanes of East Sussex. Rob.
Ain't got nuffink now except memories.

Fantastic, I had almost forgotten what Nobels were for! Love the way the car pops out from behind the Bentley!  At one stage I thought Nick was going to desert his son at the side of the road and clear off to the hills! But he came back for you. Thanks for posting it, maybe this spritely Nobby wil inspire those members who have dismantle ones in there garage to put them back together! You know who you are!! ;) ;) One question though, isnt that dash board supposed to be hammerite blue?

Hello Bob,       Nick here. I know the dashboard should be blue, but the body & painwork are exactly how the car came and I felt it was too good to dismantle & respray. I only had to do the mechanical stuff & rewire it. Yesterday when I tried to start it for the first time the starter just clicked. I then removed the fan cover to find the engine was siezed. I knew it couldn't be bad, as I had rebuilt this motor about ten years ago. A quick turn with a 22mm socket soon freed it off. Then it span over and flashed up. It made a hell of a row as there was no exhaust system. Last night and this morning Jonathan & I made an exhaust using his chassis & engine as a jig. It fits well and sounds ok. I'll add it on my classic car insurance tomorrow so I can drive it around without worrying about being stopped by the gendarmes, like we were this afternoon in the big green car. I didn't have my documents on me, but when I said my next door neighbour was the mayor they let me go.  The next job to do on the Nobel is finish the wiring. I only have to wire up the front lights, brake lamp switch & horn. In France 3-wheelers don't need an MOT,  so once it's on the insurance we can drive it.  It's booked in at the Manressa rally. One question Bob. What front dampers have you fitted on your Nobel chassis ? Mine feel very soft and at wallows a bit on corners. I guess they all do that .        regards, Nick.

Hi Nick. The car sounds a treat on the film so you must have made a good job on that DIY silencer! It looks like its nipping along at a good speed too. My original coil overs were very rusty and were void of all damping! Living quite near to Hagons the motorcycle wheels and shocks specialists in Hainault, I took my old ones in to them and they made me replacements by matching up the spring tensions, well in fact they made them a tad harder for the same reasons you mentioned. I had to spacer the eye width out a little but they went on fine, I cant say how good they will be yet as its a long way from being on the road [ask Jonathan, he knows why] They keep a record of all the one off shocks they make for future reference so they have these on record if you want to go that route. They also said if I wanted them tweeking they would change the coils for another tension no problem. Its a lovely little car you have there, cant you mask up the inside and spray the dash blue? I will come over to your rally one day when I can afford it!   Best wishes, Bob

Well that rubbish's the rumor that Nobel's are under powered,  although the terrain there looks pretty flat, incidentally the original dash colour is a little lighter then Hamerite blue so you may as well leave as is, unless you get a decent match from an untouched one.

No, it doesn't Mike. Wishfull thinking. The deception is as a result of  flat roads, the fact that Nick is the worlds finest Sachs engine technition and that the  camera lies! The way to find out for sure though is to put your car together and try it for yourself! ;) ;)

Ok Jonathan I will explain. Me and Mike Plant[blob] are very good friends and go to a lot events together. We also like to take the Mickey out of each other on the forum, Mike has dismantled microcars, Friskies and Nobel and will never restore them. I have a workshop with only a very narrow side access which is why I do Inters, even a schmitt has to have its front wings removed to get through it. Mike is mocking my garage facilities whilst I remind him his Nobel is in a million pieces and always will be whilst he owns it. Watch this space and he will retaliate, Its what middle aged Essex boys do for fun! He will also deny he lives in Essex. Just watch! :D :D :D :D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I can't retaliate as I'm laughing too hard, however I am warming to Essex, even though the official border is up the road!
