Sad ending for a Messerschmitt Dealer

Hello,

  Today, we went to Tarbes, for Car Boots, and also an Autojumble (Saw a perished schmitt michelin tire, shame, it had a giant crack on the side... :( ), then went to Rue Carnot, where the French Messerschmitt dealer of the 65/31 region was. My dad went there  years ago, but it was all boarded up, and whitewhased, but my dad could see a DKW logo, but no schmitt one. I have been bragging on about seeing it, and today we did. Well, al we saw was a new building... They must have bought it, scrapped all of the spares (if there where any, unless the previous owner kept them), and turned it into an office renting place...

Picture of it tommorow... Does anyone have a pic of it before? My dad took a pic and sent it to kabinews, but he cant find it, if anyone has it, pleasse send!

Sorry for that sad news mate.

The photos and films are all that reminds us of the old days
so other than your and my stories we take the time to record and distribute through the internet and forums like this we would leave nothing of our social history like I am finding with my Zeta and Triumph cars, it is not as much the machine as the characters we remember as well as the good and bad events we attended and the people we meet alomg the way .

The restoration is only the beginning of the long term adventures and the stories are a valuable contribution to the future history of the cars and us!!

  Sorry for the delay for the photo, but here it is attached!

I phoned the guy up, to see if there were any parts with the building, and he said no, and he has owned it for 20 years, so thats ashame...
He didnt really care that the building used to be a schmitt dealer, but I guess not everyone likes them!

My next car project is probably a schmitt, but I need to buy one first! I am preferably looking for a Schmitt, BMW 600, Frisky, Peel (Hehe ;) ), Janus, or (nearly) any GRP microcar (I wouldnt mind another Nobel, but I prefer something else, cos it will be a bit repetetive!)
If I get a kr200, I will make it deluxe, white with blue trim, similar to Chris Van Roy's one.

PS: I just started making an archive for all microcars for sale. It includes all the photos of the adverts, the description and sometimes the actual webpage (Saved, so if its ebay, you can still see it when the advert is over 90 days old). So far, I only have 2 cars in it ;) (Both modified 175's: The one that is horrible condition, with giant fins on the back, and the new one, with a modified front)

Remind me, how can I archive an ebay webpage to keep it for more than 90 days? It would be nice to keep the info and pictures of a car I have bought or one I find interesting. PS: How's your archive getting on?

  Stopped doing the archive; it is too much work for so many adverts. I do save all of the interesting ones though.

Send me an email JonathanLPoll@gmail.com with a link to the advert and I will send you the ad so you can see it forever.

Dont bother sending it on the forum since I am in UK now, and can only do it when Im back and ,ay miss it on the forum.

Looks more like an old Odious or Gonemont cinema. Interesting that for a while garages were built as trendy buildings with some style. Most here have become barns knocking out iffy motors and the old fashioned garage is dyeing out, even the good parts shops are disappearing now. The motor trade does not support the thousands of extra jobs like it used to and the manufacturers are ever forcing the customer to a choice of one. I fear the marvel that is the French town garage will go too. A place that can fix anything including damaged trailers or even shoe a horse and if your lucky has a few scrappers round the back for a budget rebuild if you have the sense to drive French cars.
