wiring ring terminals ?
« on: July 18, 2013, 09:47:57 pm »
having tried all sorts does anyone have a dozen or so small terminals as pictured ( original set up ) . anything modern i have found ,to fit the 4ba screw , is too bulky as you see i have to fit 3 terminals to 2 of the screws . again they need to look correct , ideally uninsulated and be compact enough . ideas ?

They can be akward buggers. This site offers some that have a longer neck (F) for a 4.3mm hole, but may be trade only. Possibly worth a call.

have ordered from the first one looks promising but cannot tell how slim they are until they arrive - i have done this before . thanks for that tip . the longer ones would surely be more problematic in reaching across from one terminal to another . thanks

spent some time at the weekend filing out the ring terminals , bought from autoelectrics , to fit the 4BA terminal screws they sold  2,3 or 4 BA but they did not fit . quite annoying but after quite a bit of fiddly filing i have done the job . i will take it up with them anyway

Glad you got it sorted in the end - I thought the longer ones might allow a bit more space between the wires, but I guess it depends where the bulky bit was. Looking forward to seeing the finished car.
