Ah, makes me go all misty-eyed for the former Eastern Bloc. The power unit and rear lights are rather unpleasant, if necessary, but that replacement flat windscreen surround is a work of art - back then parts were completely unobtainable but skills readily available so this sort of craftmanship was everyday stuff. My personal record was looking around a Ukrainian light metalwork shop and finding a stripped Lada body upside down and having rust repairs being done. The record bit was that this shop was on the second floor of a building and it appeared the Lada had been craned in. Now that's taking a 'home job' seriously.
